Maritime

We are preeminent in maritime and transportation law in Lebanon, with a long and distinguished history of serving an international and exclusive clientele, including shipowners, operators and charterers, marine underwriters including P&I insurers, FD&D associations, hull and machinery underwriters and war risk insurers, NVOCC's, freight forwarders, shipping agents, financing institutions and land transporters. We act as legal correspondents for most P&I Clubs and maintains very strong ties with many key players in the shipping industry.

We are experienced in all aspects of maritime litigation and dispute resolution, including cargo claims, marine injury claims, marine casualty, charter-party disputes, shipbuilding disputes, sale and purchase disputes, marine insurance. We are highly experienced in admiralty matters, including collision and pilotage claims, general average, salvage and pollution.

Recent work includes: settling multi-million dollar claims on behalf of a major London based P&I Club arising from the total loss of a member ship and assisting in various legal disputes related to those claims; defending one of the world’s largest shipping lines in multi-million dollar litigation arising from the performance of a contract of carriage of oil and assisting it in an international arbitration associated with that contract; advising one of the world’s largest container carriers on various claims brought against it for loss of different cargoes; acting for different bunker suppliers in unpaid bunker claims; advising a top London maritime firm on ship arrest rules under Lebanese laws; advising an international Port Terminal Operator on operation and management of local port terminal facility; negotiating multi-million dollar transaction on behalf of one of the major international port terminal operators with the Lebanese port authorities.
