Our Firm has distinguished experience in regulatory work ranging from contributing to the enactment of key economic bills such as the laws on Luxurious Buildings (1954), Banking Secrecy (1956), Death Penalty For Serious Crimes (1958), Joint-Bank Accounts (1961) to advising clients on regulatory framework in various areas of the law (incl. banking, tax, retail, media, insurance, finance and transport).
Throughout the years, our lawyers have been members of different legislative and consultative committees of various ministries and public agencies and rendered advice on various legal reforms.
We also handle different projects and transactions with administrative and regulatory agencies.
Recent work in this area includes: participating in the legislative committees of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport formed for the purpose of reviewing various legislations in force; representing a major international port terminal operator in a bid for the management and running of a major container terminal; assisting a major consultancy architectural Firm in reviewing and negotiating various public works contracts with several public agencies and municipalities; advising a leading European mobile network operator and internet service provider on potential dispute with the Lebanese Ministry of Telecommunications; advising an American multinational beverage corporation on establishment of local NGO; advising an international security company on Lebanese regulatory and administrative laws; advising a world leading financial services provider on Lebanese insurance regulatory laws; representing a world leading media company on dispute with the Lebanese Ministry of Finance and negotiating settlement with the latter.
